The Pipefolio Portal System
A New Tool For Entry-Level Hiring
Signatory Contractor?
When Will Contractors Find the Portal Helpful?
1. When You're Short on Time
No more waiting for your job ad to be printed or published.
Qualified candidate profiles, called Pipefolios, are stored in the cloud, accessible to recruiters any time, day or night. No need to post a job or wait for responses.
Each profile is presented in a consistently organized set-up, making scanning for important information an easy task.
Contractors only see profiles that have been pre-filtered down to those meeting requirements to apply for a State of Wisconsin pipe trade apprenticeship and any additional guidelines set by the individual UA Local.
Upon identifying candidates of interest, a contractor can enter candidate ID numbers to immediately receive their contact information. At the same time, the candidates will also receive an email regarding the contractor's interest. These are generated automatically by the software, without extra effort on the contractor's part, and include directions on the next step specific to that contractor.
2. When You Need Extra Support for Your Equal Employment Efforts
PipeTradeCareers.com's objective is to help contractors efficiently and impartially pre-screen qualified candidates from a larger pool creating a smaller yet diverse group from which to hire.
For potential candidates, the site uniformly offers the same vetting process. This process starts with a short “getting to know you” questionairre presenting the same questions, with the same wording in the same order.
Next, pre-qualified, interested applicants are invited to an online orientation containing apprenticeship resources. Access to the same materials is available to all candidates, regardless of their zip code, the time of day or their preferred device as the site is mobile responsive.
When every potential apprentice is sent through the portal, the same materials are equally offered and provide a consistent, repeatable process for all future apprentices.
For contractors, the site provides pre-screened profiles with an ID number replacing a name. This allows for, in a neutral manner, review of profiles to determine apprenticeship and hiring readiness.
The PipeTradeCareers.com process is impartial to discriminating factors that can occur when hiring off the street or through word of mouth contacts.
3. When You're Understaffed
PipeTradeCareers.com saves time and effort by directing potential candidates to an informative website where they can find materials, as well as find answers to their questions.
Resources include:
Candidates can fill out the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Apprentice Application anytime, anywhere, with our mobile-friendly fillable .pdf.
Additionally candidates are given submission instructions aligned with the UA Local or contractors' association preference. Mailed or emailed? Together or piecemeal? Direct from 3rd party source or printed by candidate?
With all information in a single source, accessible at any time, candidates have everything they need at their fingertips, and hiring managers are freed from repetitive questions and redundant document handling.
