No.  Local 75 has a skill-based referral system.  If an employee doesn’t possess the skills that you require to complete a job, or if your workload slows, you will be able to hire and lay-off as you see fit.

Yes. If you decide to become a Local 75 signatory contractor, your employees will be given the option to join Local 75 and take advantage of the health care and pension plans along with unlimited access to training and continuing education.

Local 75’s trust fund system is a very simple system to participate in. Every month you will submit the hours that your employees have worked, along with payment to the Local for their benefits.  From there the Local 75 office staff distributes the money accordingly into the appropriate funds.

Yes.  Local 75 has different wage packages that are designed to keep you competitive in the markets you work in.

No.  Local 75 believes by becoming a signatory contractor, you actually become more competitive.  Your employees will have access to two state-of-the-art training centers, which in turn will make your employees more skilled and efficient.  Resulting in less re-work, and quicker completion times on your projects.

Typically, the duration of a contract lasts between one year and three years.  You will only be bound for the duration of the contract.  Once the contract is due, then you will be able to make the decision if being a signatory contractor works for your business.

Local 75 has a reasonable dues assessment that each employee has to pay. Dues are calculated as a percentage of the total package an employee earns. Local 75 has an affordable health and welfare program, pension program, and optional 401k program. On top of the fringe benefits an employee will receive, they will also have access to cost-free training. All night school programs are offered free of charge to members or apprenticeship candidates you may hire. 

No.  Local 75 runs a skills-based referral program and you are able to reject employment to anyone referred to your shop.  If you require a specific skill to complete a project, Local 75 will work with you to make sure your manpower needs are adequately filled.

Local 75 urges any interested contractor to take a tour of their facilities. They also urge you to bring potential customers along with you so they, too, can experience the benefit of hiring a signatory contractor and, in turn, their skilled workforce. Local 75’s 60,000 square foot main training center is located in Madison, WI, and a 6,000 square foot satellite training center is located in Milwaukee. Both facilities offer an array of classes that will train your employees to be highly skilled mechanics in the piping industry. UA Local 75 gives tours by appointment only. Members have access during all business hours.
